Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer who is gaining recognition for her outstanding performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included the Oscar for her movie Piano. She began her career acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. From the time she was a child she's been passionate about acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. In the fifth grade, after having mumps she lost her hearing in the left ear. She did not let it stop her from performing. At college, she was a theatre student as well as later moving from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut after an unplanned encounter with Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After that, she made the move into Los Angeles and tried to land movie roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also her Women in Film Lucy Award.
